As a whetstone provides the necessary texture to smooth out the imperfections of a blade, young men need the same sharpening influence in their lives.  This is best done by men in an environment where structured hardship and challenge can be applied in the correct measure.  By the application of this model, adolescents can become the courageous men they were intended to be and navigate the temptations of vice and cowardice.

• Daily mentoring from individually assigned staff in a 2:1 boy to staff ratio
