Nathan Dahlstrom was born in Roswell, NM and grew up north of there in Portales, NM. He is an avid outdoorsman and a disciple of Christ. While many have had the vision to help youth, the Whetstone vision began with Nathan in 1997 while living in West Yellowstone, MT. After prayerfully deciding that this was the course God intended for his life, he moved to Rochester, MI to study the Bible. There he met and married Missy, received a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education in May of 2001, and Masters in Nonprofit Management. After graduating, he moved to Riverhead, NY in September of 2001 and became the Campus Supervisor for Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch. During this time Nathan gained experience in mentoring at-risk youth as well as staff and program management. In December of 2004 Nathan, Missy, and their two girls tearfully left New York to continue the Whetstone vision and ministry to hurting kids in another location. Nathan and his family currently live in Lubbock, TX where Nathan is the Unit Director at the Children’s Home of Lubbock. ndahlstrom@whetstoneboysranch.com
